During the discussions on a recent article on the Kenyan Internet Exchange Point (KIXP), I was comforted to see that even some of the techies do not understand some reasons behind decisions by ISPs.
For instance, if KIXP reduces costs, why is the cost of connectivity so high? This question was posed by someone who is considered to have a level of technical understanding. read more »
In Johannesburg (or Jozi), street lights work and are obeyed; the computerized system has cracked down on all errant motorist until they have all towed the line. I even commented to a friend that we need such a computerized system in Kenya, but we have to get rid of the thugs who carjack motorists at night before we can obey lights at night. read more »
