Apple warns new products looming

Apple executives last night warned that the company's profit margins would be impacted by a top-secret product transition it has plan for around September.

Speaking during last night's financial call, Apple chief financial officer, Peter Oppenheimer, explained: "We have several more wonderful new products to launch in the coming months."

He explained the decline in margin (to a still impressive 30 percent) as reflecting a strategic decision by Apple, as it doesn't want to leave a margin so high its competitors can undercut its new device on price.

Oppenheimer also promised these state-of-the-art products would have technologies and features that others "can't match." However, Apple said little more, leading some commentators to once again predict the company may introduce a subnotebook designed to compete with the EEEE PC.
