Celtel Kenya has widened its scope by allowing customers to access data and voice services while roaming in Nigeria.
The company signed a roaming agreement with Celtel Nigeria, making it possible for customers traveling to the West African nation to use GPRS (General Packet Radio Service).
"The number of people traveling internationally has increased substantially. Being in constant touch globally is now an absolute necessity," said Michael Okwiri, Celtel corporate communications director.
Celtel Kenya had greatly expanded its roaming service, allowing subscribers to use voice roaming in 125 countries with more than 300 partner networks, Okwiri noted.
“Over the years, we have tried to ensure that we reach out to network operators in countries that are frequently visited by our subscribers. We are glad to report that we have attained more than 95 percent presence in all continents,” he said.
